Help bring back a piece of Benton's history.

1930 American La France Fire Truck

1930 American La France fire truckThe members of the Benton Fire Department are asking for your help in bringing back a piece of Benton’s history. The above photo is the 1930 American LaFrance Fire Truck, purchased by the City of Benton in February 1930. This is one of the first fire trucks owned by the city.

The current owner has contacted the Benton Fire Department and offered to sell the truck back to us so that we may have a piece of our department’s heritage. This truck was restored a few years back with the Benton Fire Department lettering and is something for all of us to be proud of.

Our firefighters are asking for donations to help offset the cost of purchasing this fire truck. Our plans for the truck will be used as an educational tool and as a show vehicle in local parades and other events.

Donations can be sent to:
