Benton Parks & Recreation announces registration for Girls’ Fast Pitch
Softball League
It recent meetings, the Benton Parks Commission made decisions pertaining to
the future of the Girls’ Softball Program formerly run by the Benton Kiwanis
Club. The Benton Parks Department, which has been involved in the program
for many years, will be responsible for organization and operation of the
program.
A coaches meeting will be held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 6:30 pm in the
Gene Moss Building at Tyndall Park. All coaches, whether returning or new,
are asked to attend the meeting.
Registration forms will be available at the meeting, at Benton Parks &
Recreation, and at Sport Shop. Registrations fees are $45 for girls’ ages 4
to 6, and $50 for girls 7 and older. A discount is given for siblings.
Registration deadline is 5:00 pm Friday, February 29, 2008. Late
registrations will be charged an additional $10.00 per girl. Tryouts will be
held on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Tyndall Park.
Organizations and individuals who are willing to sponsor a team will be
greatly appreciated. Sponsorship information may be obtained by calling
Benton Parks.
