Meter Readers
The Billing Services Department is staffed by four meter readers. They are
responsible for collecting all of the meter readings for billing.
 |
Eric Manley is reading an electric meter
using a handheld device that he inputs the reading into manually. |
 |
Meter Reader Dannie Cuningkin is
inputting a water meter reading into his handheld device. The meter
reading has been done using these manual input computers for several
years now. |
 |
Meter Reader Eric Manley is using the computer to
collect the automated meter readings. Benton Utilities began
retrofitting existing electric and water meters with Automatic Meter
Reading devices in early 2006 as well as installing new meters fitted
with the devices. The AMR device allows a meter reader to drive down a
street and collect the reading from a vehicle saving a substantial
amount of time. |
