Maintenance
to the electric system is continual
Tree Trimming
Our department has implemented a progressive vegetation management
program. We maintain the clearance around all primary lines, the lines
that run from pole to pole. So, in order to keep the electricity on during
windy times, we have to keep the lines clear and free from tree limbs or
brush.

Locates
- Locates are required by Arkansas Law anytime digging will be done with
any mechanized equipment for whatever reason. When a contractor or
homeowner digs within the confines of our service area, they are required
to call in a dig ticket to Arkansas One-Call and to mark the dig site with
white paint.
The Arkansas One-Call Center sends us a ticket via e-mail notifying us of
the locate request. Our department is required by law to respond to the
dig site within two business days and mark the ground above our lines in
red paint. Our lines include both the mains and services up to the meter,
we are not responsible for lines on the customer’s side of the meter and
do not locate them.
Craig Esworthy, Electrician, is in the process of completing a locate. We
receive up to 40-45 locate requests per day.
Line
Maintenance, Upgrades and Repairs – The electric department employees are
responsible for all line maintenance, upgrades and repairs. These upgrades
are to existing lines in order to meet both current and future needs of
our customers. We also make repairs as needed do to storms or other
various reasons, and install new services to residences and businesses.
Lineman and Apprentice Lineman are preparing to make an upgrade on primary
lines.
