(1)  How is my Sewer Rate Figured?

Residential

Rate: 900 in-city-limits $4.30/K-gal. 2-99999999 gal.
+ $7.00 Cust. Charge (includes 1K-gal.)

Rate: 700 out-of-city-limits $7.525/K-gal. 2-99999999 gal.
+ $12.25 Cust. Charge (includes 1K-gal.)

Commercial

Rate: 905 $4.30/K-gal. 2-99999999 gal.
+ $7.00 Cust. Charge (includes 1K-gal.)

(2)  My toilet isn’t flushing right, who do I call?

You need to call our dept. at 501-776-5930. This number is answered 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. We will always send a crew out to see if it is on our side for you. If the problem is in our lines, we will make the necessary repairs in order to get it flowing properly again. If it is in your lines, you will need to contact a plumber or get it fixed yourself.

(3)  What is Benton Utilities Wastewater Collection Dept.’s responsibility?

This dept. is responsible for all mains in this city. The customer is responsible for the line from the service line from the main to the residence or business.

(4)  There is water coming out of a manhole, what do I do?

Call 501-776-5930 ASAP, this dept. will dispatch a crew as soon as they are notified of a problem.

(5)  The manhole cover is off in front of my home/business, what do I do?

(6)  Does Benton Utilities Wastewater Collection pick-up trash?

No, Benton Utilities does not offer trash pick-up. You should be able to find a local trash hauler in your phone directory listed under garbage pick-up.

(7)  There is a red light blinking in my back yard and the sign says call Benton Wastewater when this happens, what’s going on?

This is a wastewater liftstation or pumpstation light blinking, it goes off when something is wrong. Please, call 501-776-5930 as soon as you notice it.

(8)  There is a sewer thing for my house in my back yard, what is it called?

If it is a white 4” pipe with a cap on it, it is called a clean-out. It is very important to have one of these and to keep the lid on it.
